EditPad Lite is a compact general-purpose text editor. Use EditPad Lite to easily edit any kind of plain text file. EditPad Lite is a word processor that aims to replace the Notepad found in Windows. This program can also be installed as a portable software. In this case, there will be no changes made to your registry keys. Also, you can place EditPad Lite on a removable drive and run its executable file on any computer.

How to Create Your Own Portable Copy of EditPad Lite
Insert the USB stick, memory card or other removable disk or device into your computer. If you have EditPad Lite installed on your hard disk, select the Create Portable Installation item in the Help menu. EditPad Lite will then copy itself along with your configuration settings to the device. If you don't have EditPad Lite installed on your hard disk, download it and click the Create Portable Installation button in the installer.
To run EditPad Lite from the removable device, simply point Windows Explorer to the EditPadLite folder on the device and double-click EditPadLite.exe. EditPad Lite will automatically know it's being run from a removable device, and won't touch anything on the host computer. Except for files you explicitly save on it, of course.
The word editor takes up a low-to-moderate amount of system resources, supports keyboard shortcuts and includes a complete help file. It seems that EditPad Lite is an excellent word processing tool that easily surpasses Notepad. EditPad Lite is free for personal use. Highly recommend it to all users.
